Speech on Afganistan
Since the government of Afghanistan withdrew its leadership as Kandahar led the Taliban movement in 1994, Afghan people lost their numerous kinds of freedom. The Taliban regime restricted the Afghan people even in many extremely basic areas:entertainment, outer appearance, naming, and clothing. However, while Afghanistan was under the control of the Taliban, women were desperate to get their freedom from both physical and emotional restrictions. Women were dependent to men and were mandatory to be compliant to them. They could not choose their jobs as they wanted and were treated as men’s possessions. Afghanistan in those days was the place where no humanity was found for the women. As a result many tried to escape to Pakistan and Iran in spite of the dangerous risks.
