As previously discussed, Realism is based on real experiences instead of hopes and dreams. The writers did not give people a false sense of hope or security. They wrote about how it was not how it could be. They believed that life was not perfect, and the things that happened to make life not perfect, is what one should believe in. They believed people should know the truth and live the truth, instead of living a fantasy. They believed that the truth is what made us real not false interpretations.
