I personally believe the book was well written. This is so because the author got much of it straight from the source, the source being John F. Kennedy. I would certainly recommend this book to someone else. Although it was about history it was not tedious. It was actually quite easy and interesting to read. This was so because the way the author presented the life of this President. This book should be read by all because it shows how a president’s life is not so trouble free. It is really complicated and a President is always faced with intricate decisions that they alone can make. This book also expands ones knowledge of the subject. It allows people to see the lives of a president from a different view. I myself like the book immensely and I hope that many will read this after me and feel the same way. It is an excellent book. John F. Kennedy, President is a book that should be read and treasured by all.

The author’s views of John F. Kennedy are extremely high. The author’s choice of words reflect admiration for a great man. Hugh speaks of how Kennedy spoke freely to the press while presidents before him disliked the media and the press. Others did not allow interviews while he took the time to listen and reply to their questions. Sidey referred to John Fitzgerald Kennedy as a hard working young man long before he even began to think of becoming President. Hugh also mentioned even when the President was in severe pain he did not like anyone to know of his discomforts. He was a strong man and never wanted to show weakness. During some rare occasions a few people see the president as human and it frightens them. Though this happens to all Presidents people seem to have the notion that a President must not be just a normal man to do a superhuman job. This happened rarely with John Kennedy because he covered his weaknesses well. The President was so dedicated to his work that he allowed meetings to be held on his ship even when he was on a vacation with his family. Vacations were rare due to his standing in society.
