The restrictions being put on music today are becoming more and more ridiculous and not doing anything constructive to fix the so-called problem. For example, even if someone feels negatively about teenagers listening to certain music, these restrictions are now being carried over to restricting teenagers from reading. In Wales, Wisconsin, high school students now require an ID to read Rolling Stone magazine even though there is no age requirement in purchasing it (Dileonardo 1). In an even more bizarre case, a roller skating rink in Louisiana was shut down by police after a fight broke out. Needing someone, anyone really to blame, the police confiscated CD’s by Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and even the popular song “The Chicken Dance” (Dileonardo 2).
