Since a lot of different parts have to be put together, in order for this plan to be up to date, flexible and complete, the diverse skills, abilities and creativity was required from everyone. Of course, it didn’t happen just without the arguing and the rejection of the some of the ideas to construct the business plan.

We made some poor decisions at the beginning, which cost us some time. We were “dancing around the subject”. Yes, we didn’t have the support of all the group members also, which is part of what slowed us down.

The group members have not all been prepared for the assignment but it didn’t long before everyone started to contribute with their share. Live meetings with specialists in different departments – accounting, marketing, management, web development

The generation of more ideas as a group than we would have had individually generated definitely diversified the initial plan but not to extent that is not controlled or not goal oriented. Some of the members were engage in "groupthink". Having understood the advantages and possible problems of the consensus approach, we were encouraged to use this method to make decisions whenever possible. An operational way of defining a consensus decision and support it.

Since everyone was responsible for each different part of the project we all had to act as “linking pin” to track progress, develop and benchmark further.

The climate of the group was very competitive at the beginning. Everyone was coming up with new and interesting ideas and information. Everyone wanted to be the leader. At the end we were the all team players with one goal and everyone was a leader. The information was generated, integrated and evaluated with great acceptance and commitment. The sharing of information was intense done by every means to achieve the reward - getting our first business plan. We took our time to observe the subject and completely prepare to make decisions that are satisfying with the only reward that we have it done.

Of course there was misperception of opposing points but this was easily resolved
