Child Abuse


            
             Child abuse comes in many different forms. The first one that comes to mind is physical but there are many types. There is physical, sexual, physical neglect, emotional abuse. I"m going to explain each one, their symptoms, and how they could affect children who have to endure them. Though child abuse and can recognized by the signs there isn't always signs and that doesn't mean that the child is being abused.
             Physical abuse is defined as a non-accidental injury to a child that may include severe beatings, burns, strangulation, or human bites. Symptoms or indicators vary greatly from child to child. Possibly one or a few, or now will be readily apparent in a child that is being abused. Physical indicators could be unexplained bruises, welts, human bite marks, bald spots, unexplained burns, unexplained fractures, lacerations, abrasions, swollen area, evidence of delayed or inappropriate treatment for injuries. All could be indicators that a child is being abused but there is also behavioral indicators as well. Behavioral indicators could be self destructive, withdrawn and/or aggressive behavior, arrives at school early or stats late as if afraid to be at home, chronic runaway (adolescent), complains of soreness or moves uncomfortably, wears clothing inappropriate to weather, bizarre explanations of injuries. These are all symptoms and signs of physical abuse and should try to be recognized quickly so that the child can be put into a better situation.
             Sexual abuse is defined as sexual exploitation of a child, including rape, incest, fondling, exhibitionism, or pornography. Some of the physical indicators of sexual abuse are torn, stained or bloody underclothing, pain swelling or itching in genital area, difficulty walking or sitting, bruises or bleeding in genial area, venereal diseases, or .
             frequent urinary or yeast infections. Most those would be more recognized by a doctor. The behavioral indicators are more easy to notice.
