Argumentation against Affirmitive action
Many believe that affirmative action is a very effective plan; however, the population which opposes such action frequently includes people of various minorities, as well as many others who have been wronged by this plan. In several cases, this plan causes minorities to be perceived as being under-qualified when hired. In addition, it also causes a new minority, the white male. Our government must acknowledge the fact that affirmative action is not putting an end to discrimination. In all actuality, this plan has succeeded in creating new minorities, and more reasons for discrimination. Affirmative action frequently causes qualified employees to be looked down upon because some believe them to be "affirmative action hires". In other scenarios, minority students who apply to colleges around the U.S simply get accepted because of their cultural background, rather than grades and qualifications like they do to the Caucasian students. Louis P. Pojman argues against affirmative action. He says that “Weak Affirmative Action weakly discriminates against new minorities, mostly innocent young white males, and Strong Affirmative Action strongly discriminates against these new minorities”. I agree with his argument because
that they never experienced. I can understand that the cause of slavery in the United States had a major impact in black minorities today, as far as progressing as a group. But the end does not justify the means. If anything, they should give money to the actual slaves themselves. Since that is not possible, then I feel that they should not give money to all African- Americans. the problem of racism then is never going to end. On one hand, you are trying to break or eliminate racism from interfering with anything or having it to be a method to judge a person. But with affirmative action, we are creating a new breed of racism. One in which there will be no solution. I feel that a person should be judged and characterized solely on their intelligence or any special ability they poses, not by their color of their skin or their cultural back grounds.
