Hip hop

Music has always been a form of expression. When people think of music they usually think of personal situations such as life, love, family issues and problems or just plain fun. Music can be used to calm a person down, to relieve stress, or sheer leisure entertainment. It has opened society to a variety of genres. Within these genres, there are different classifications. Hip-Hop music is one of the different genres. It has helped many artists channel their emotions through their music.

Hip Hop is an art form that is divided into emceeing/rappin', breakdancing and grafitti art. It has thrived within the subculture of inner-city youths and is now just recently beginning to enjoy widespread exposure. Hip hop is a lifestyle with its own language, style of dress, music and mind set that is continuously evolving. Graffiti art is an important part of hip-hop. There are many reasons as to why p

eople do graffiti. For some it is to get back at a world that has long oppressed them and to rebel against the society they consider so corrupt and unjust. For others it is purely for the pleasure of creation, for the art form. To pour your soul onto a wall and be able to step back and see your fears, your hopes, your dreams, your weaknesses, really give you a deeper understanding of yourself and your own mental state. Although many looked at graffiti as vandalism, it gave many urban youths the impression that they did not have to express themselves through violence but instead art. Nowadays, walls are not the only things being tagged up but shirts, pants, and sneakers as well.

Rapping is the most intricate part of Hip-Hop. Rapping is when an individual truly expresses their most intimate emotions with others, an audience, or the opponent they are battling. Their rhymes may be funny, serious, or even emo
