Is full inclusion of disabled students desirable?

My group discussed the article “Is Full Inclusion of Disabled Students Desirable?” it was a very intense discussion between us. My hypothesis was that most of us were going to agree with the statement and say that it was a good for inclusion of disabled students. However that is not quite where are discussion lead us too.

When our discussion started out we all agreed that to have inclusion for disabled students was a good thing. We said that we thought it was good because it was beneficial for both the disabled student and for the other students in that class room. It would benefit the disabled student because they would be learning from the students who don’t have a learning problem and the disabled student would feel just like one of the regular students. Would they? Was the question that I asked because I would think that the other children would make fun of the child that has a disability and it would be harder for the the disabled student to be in that class room because they would have to handle being made fun of . For those kids it is harder sometimes for them to ignore the situation. The other way that we thought it would be beneficial is because the kids that don’t have a disability could take the opportuni

My opinion about this topic is leaning a lot more toward wanting no inclusion of disabled students. I have been a victim of having a learning disability. My disability wasn’t as bad as other children’s. I also see it from a teachers perspective also. As for me and my learning disability I was always being evaluated ever since I was five years old and when I was in fifth grade I was put in a school for kids who had learning problems, behavior problems, and disabilities. So I have had lots of experience being on one side of it and it was a lot easier for me to work at my own pace and I watched the other kids and they did a lot better that way too. The school that I went to worked with kids and there disabilities and would let them learn at there own pace. It is usually very hard for a child with a learning disability to learn in a regular school setting because the disability impairs the way that they take in information. The other way that I look at this topic is from a teachers point of view. I work in a daycare setting and we are allowed to take kids in our preschool classes who have a disability. For example we had a little girl in our class who had down syndrome we were lucky because she had a great personality and was a great listener, but
