Right and wrong

Most people, in this world, have a general sense or knowledge of the difference between right and wrong. Some of what we learned is already ingrained in our heads when we were born, and has come natural. However, people have different opinions of what is right and wrong. We have learned this difference from our parents, teachers, and other superiors. Education, role-models, friends, family, other people, and surroundings affect one’s perception of right and wrong.

Most of the things we have learned in our life have been so practical that it comes naturally and one is born with the intelligence. There are certain tasks and performances in our life that are so self-explanatory that they do not require thinking. For instance, when we want to show joy and happiness to others, we communicate with facial expression and talking. We would not, however, show happiness through acting as if you are angry. When we are outside, running in the park, to keep the body functioning, we inhale and exhale air. Also, when one is tired, it is right to sleep at nighttime instead of daytime. The


As we are growing up, the many things around us influence us. TV, school, the media, and other factors influence how we think and react. These factors help shape our opinions of what is right and wrong. For instance, the law teaches us right from wrong. Governments impose certain laws that inform us what is acceptable and what isn’t. In Cincinnati, it is against the law to drive above the speed limit. Also, it is against the law to murder someone. Laws, however, in different states and countries can vary. While it is unacceptable to drive over fifty-five on the highway in Ohio, it is acceptable to drive 75 on the highway in Michigan. Another source of information that influences us is school. From Kindergarten to our senior year in college, we have teachers that teach us what is right and wrong in life, from math equations to learning our manners. There are some teachers, whose teaching is influenced by their cultural beliefs and values. A student that went to a catholic school would most likely live his life by the Bible.
