Gender Issues and Pygmalion

The moral foundation of feminism is the assertion that women are, and historically always have been, oppressed by men. Feminist ideology is that society is organised into a patriarchal system in which men have advantage over women.It is a social theory and political movement, which is primarly based on and motivated by the experience of women, as it provides a view of gender inequality and promotes the rights,issues and interests of women. Theorists aim to understand how inequality occurs and focus on aspects such as gender politics,power relations and sexuality. Activists for feminism push for social, economic and politcal equality between the two sexes. Feminism is generally said to have begun in the 19th century as people increasingly adopted the perception that women are oppressed in a male-centered society.
