In & Out: Reaction
In & Out is the first movie that I have ever watched that was solely based on the gay issue. There are other gay themed movies that I have heard about, such as Birdcage and some transgender movies, but never seen. However, I did see a few documentaries about gays and the issue. In few other classes that I have taken, the class watched these documentaries, which were quite explicit and sexual, and it was obvious the majority was a bit uncomfortable including myself. These days, it is safe to say that the majority of the younger generation are much more aware and accepting about the issue and it does not bother, but when certain pictures and videos are put in front of people in such extent, it still can be a bit difficult to watch. There are definitely ways of “getting the word out” without having to go into such detail and to make it interesting and enjoying at the In & Out, I can say hands down, is a great movie.
