Harvey Glatman was born in Bronx, NY in 1927 to his parents

Ophelia and Albert, AT an early age they believed he had some odd

behaviors. His father believed that discipline was the best way to deal with

bad or inexplicable behavior, and would hit and come up with out the

normal type punishments. Harvey had no attention span and no interest in

anything. Sometimes just laughing for no reason at all. When he was 4 years

old, he wrapped a string around his penis and the other end to a drawer. He

leaned back against his own weight, to cause some sort of sadomasosistic

act. His parents overlooked this act, but it would be the first in his life with

pain, pleasure and “the rope”. This would end up being his signature in his
