Investigating The Rate Of Reaction Between Magnesium And
I am going to measure the rate of reaction between magnesium and hydrochloric acid. In all I am going to do two experiments the first one will look at whether changing the concentration will effect the rate of reaction and the second experiment will look at whether changing the length of magnesium will alter the rate of reaction.
My first experiment will look at how the rate of reaction changes in different concentrations.
My aim is to see how the rate of reaction between magnesium and hydrochloric acid is affected by altering the concentration.
I predict that if the concentration is high then rate of reaction will be much more faster because if a solution is made more concentrated it means that there are more particles of reactant knocking about between the water molecules which makes collisions between the important particles more likely.
My prediction is made clearer by the diagrams below which will show the particle theory.
