Sir Thomas Moore on Government and Power

American Soldiers are dying today because of the negligence of one man and perhaps a group of morally-distraught men. Soldiers are dying because of a central power overtaking the Middle East and attempting to overtake the world. Because of this central power over many countries, out own citizens, family and friends are dying. If distributed powers were taken away, America too would be ruined. By taking away American citizens right to private property, you are taking away their power. While keeping the right to private property for Americans, there can be fair distribution and the world can be happily governed. I disagree with Sir Thomas Moore’s proposal to do away with private property.

Divided power is necessary for the world to be happily governed. When Saddam Hussein took control of his


country, the citizens were angry. By having no power, they have no choice but to remain under his over-bearing control. To have a happily governed country, the citizens need power. To have a happily governed world, you need happily governed countries. If every country were solely centrally powered, the world would eventually be taken over. The power-holders would fight for complete power. By taking away our rights to private property, we’d become overpowered and eventually become much like the Middle East. It is essential to have rights and private property.
