The Life Story of Bruce Lee

Bruce Lee was born in November 27 1940, in San Francisco; he was born in the hour of the dragon 6.00am, and the year of the Dragon. His father was of Chinese origin, and his mother was of German and Chinese origin, (her mother was Chinese and her father was German.) At three months old he moved with his parents to Hong-Kong.

He appears in his first movie at this age and continues to appear in 20 Cantonese language films before the age of eighteen. In 1952 Lee enters a boys school named La Salle college. At the age of 13 he states that he got into his first fight, and lost, which encouraged him to take up Gung-Fu under the ?grandmaster Yip Man of the Wing Chun system.? After achieving outstanding results in his class, he is entered into the ?crown colony cha-cha championship? and wins.

Eventually he boards a ship that returns him to America on April 29 1959. After staying briefly in San Francisco, he finally settled in Seattle where he signs in for Edison technical school, he graduates from there in December 1960. He went on to study philosophy at the University of Washington.

Bruce published his first book in 1963 entitled Chinese Gung Fu: The Philosophical Art of Self-Defence. His personal

March the 26 1963 Lee returns to visit his family for the first time in four years. After visiting, he leaves the university after the spring quarter of 1964. During the duration of Bruce?s time at University, he falls in love with a girl named Linda Emery, one of his training students their relationship was described as a perfect example of yin-yang; with each one fitting each other?s requirements.

It is shortly after when he makes The Big Boss also called Fists of Fury for Golden Harvest Studios, which breaks all previous box office records in Hong Kong.

Bruce performs at the International Karate Tournament in Long Beach, California on August 3, 1964. He travels to Oakland subsequently, where he has dreams of opening a martial arts school, and begins to teach Gung- Fu. After a few months he marries Linda Emery. Lee was a devoted family man, who probably preferred staying home with his wife than attending parties and film premieres.

Now living in Bel-Air, where he moved to on October the 1 1968, the financial success of his first two films gave Lee the means to direct his next film ?The Way of the Dragon,? which he also scripted, co-produced and starred in. At the same time, he was signed to star in "Enter the Dragon", his last film, and the first co-production between American and Hong Kong film studios. The film proved to be an international hit, famous as much for its quotes of wisdom (?It is like a finger pointing a way to the moon but don?t concentrate on the finger or you will miss all that heavenly glory?) as it was for its spectacular martial art action sequences.
