Fundamentals of a Play

The fundamentals of a play, such as the sets, lighting, make-up, and costuming, are some of the characteristics to which create the feeling for a dramatic play or musical. A play, basically, is a performance where a particular character or more, behaves or pretends in a particular way, esp. in order to produce a particular effect or result. Out of the three movies we watched in class, The King and I, Our Town, and Les Miserables, the different usages of each characteristic helps bring out the varieties in establishing a play. These factors of a play alleviate the ¡®necessities¡¯ in recreating what is needed for the audience.

The setting itself is a very important feature in a play, for it is where the actors relive their roles in emphasizing every thought and action.
