Is Hamlet a tragic hero? First let’s define what a tragic hero is. A tragic hero is a character in a

play that portrays a flaw in the character which brings them to there demise. In the play

“Hamlet”, Hamlet seeks revenge upon Claudius his uncle, for murdering his father. Through the

course of this play Hamlet is very indecisive about killing Claudius straight out. He constantly

beats around the bush and hesitates going through with the murder. First by bringing out the

players, second buy allowing Claudius to figure out what he knew, and finally the third and

biggest mistake was by not killing Claudius when he was granted a perfect opportunity to.
