I chose to do my paper over Romans 5-6. I chose this because this is a subject that is very interesting to me. In these chapters Paul explains to us that God gave His only son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins. He then tells what God’s reason for doing this was. He also tells us that through Jesus Christ we have peace with God. Paul then tells us that death came to us through one man and that life will also be given back to us through one man. Paul then explains to us that we should be dead to sin instead of going about our earthly ways and continuing sinning. He tells us that we are alive in Christ.

The first verse of chapter five says: “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” This comes right out and tells us that we can have peace with God. We have to examine the writings and find out how we can have this peace. Paul tells us here that this peace with God comes through Jesus Christ, but he doesn’t tell us how we get it. We must go on in the reading to find out how to get this peace.

God shows us how much he loves us by giving Jesus to die on the cross for our sins. Romans 5:8

We can now have peace with God. How can we have this peace with Him? We can have this peace with God by accepting Jesus Christ as our personal Savior. We have to ask Jesus into our heart and then through Him we will have peace with God. God loves us all very much. He has shown us again and again the love that He has for us. The most noticeable display of this never-ending love is the act of giving His only son to die so that we may have eternal life with Him in Heaven. Death came to us by one man, Adam, and life has been given back to us by one man, Jesus. Jesus gave us life and we need to thank Him for it by living a more “Christ-like Life”. To do this, we must turn from our sinful ways. Jesus never sinned but He was crucified for ours. To be more like Jesus we must be dead to sin and turn towards Him.

Paul then goes on to teach us that we shouldn’t go on sinning. People will say, “Since my sins are already paid for what is wrong with me sinning.” Sin does not please God. After the gift that God gave us, eternal life, we should do every thing we can to please Him. If sin doesn’t please God then why go on sinning. Jesus took our sins and died with them so we should be dead to sin now. We should try to live a life without sin. We shouldn’t let sin rule our lives; we should live for God.
