Illegal drugs in society effect many people differently and the use of these drugs usually deterriates people’s lives and the way they live them. George Jung proves this to us in the movie Blow, which shoots across the point that drugs may seem to be glamorous at times, but they always seem to cost more than they are worth, tearing apart lives, and sometimes costing people’s lives. Many types of drugs exist in society, and they are classified into five main categories. Cocaine and marijuana are the two most widely used illegal drugs in society. They both produce physical and psychological effects. They differ greatly in tolerance and dosage. Many people who use these drugs are affected by them, some more than others. The movie, Blow, shows proof of this. Blow is a movie based on a true story. It chronicles the life of George Jung, who was the largest importer of Columbian Cocaine in the 1970’s and 1980’s. The movie shows dreadful impacts that drugs had on George’s life. He went from one of the biggest cocaine dealers making millions of dollars to the lonely hearted convict, which he is now and will remain until the year 2015.
