Emily Dickinson lived life with limitless expanses of her imagination. Dickinson?s ?The Brain ? is wider than the Sky? is a perfect example of this lifestyle. The poem describes how the human brains limits are inaccessible. Dickinson wrote in her own limitless style as well, her work was original for its time and very innovative. In this poem Dickinson evaluates the expansive capacity of the brain through comparisons to natural things and then ultimately to God. She also uses her unique writing form to further the understanding of her writing.

to convey. Emily Dickinson uses a unique style of writing. In many of Dickinson?s poems there is a common feature, in that there are three four-line stanzas. In this poem each stanza is metered iambically, where the unstressed syllable comes first followed by a stressed syllable. The first and third lines have four feet each called tetrameter, while the second and fourth lines have three feet called trimeter. Dickinson uses a rhyme scheme of ABCB in each stanza for this poem.
