international terrorism

On September the eleventh, two hijacked airplanes crashed into the twintowers of the famous American World Trade Center. The result was the collapse of both towers, burring thousands of people beneath them, including the terrorists. Buildings near to the WTC were destroyed as well. It is said to be the worst act of terrorism in the United States since the Second World War. However, this was only a part of a large-scale operation: another plane plunged into the west side of the Pentagon, destroying a main part of it, while a third hijacked airplane crashed near Pittsburgh. It seems to me that there is no equal punishment for such terrorists. Terrorism can never be an effective tool to improve anybody’s situation: all it does is to cause even more suffering. I can only agree to what George W. Bush said, “There will be no negotiations”, because terrorists must not be allowed to achieve something by acting in such ways - and leading negotiation would be seen as a success. People, willing to extinguish the lives of thousands of innocent people can’t be seen as civilized human beings. I believe that religious fanaticism is always dangerous. Pointing out to books, which have been written thousands of years ago, is not a valid argumentation. Countries in which women are treated like property, people battle each other because of religious ideologies and human rights are simply ignored can’t be treated like other western countries. And as long as such groups have an influence on the countrie´s citizens, every attempt of a positive development is simply senseless.
