Evils of Christianity

Christians are often blind to the evils of their religion. They are taught from a young age that God is almighty, and should never be questioned, so the less-finer points in their religion are often skipped over. Christianity is evil. Many problems in society have arisen from the religion, which include discrimination, anti-Semitism, sexism, and violence/war. Christianity has fought over hundreds of years to become the only religion, scaring people away from other religions in the process. Many other factors also support that Christianity is evil.

Many society problems have arisen from Christian beliefs. Many wars have been fought over Christianity; major wars include the Crusades (1095-1270 A.D.) and also World War II was fueled partially by Adolf Hitler’s Christian beliefs that all other religions are wrong (Astropithcus). Discrimination is a big part of the Christian religion. The bible specifically states that homosexuality is a sin: “No man is to have sexual relations with another man; God hates that” (Bible, Leviticus 18:22). The Christian religion is responsible for many of society’s problems, and has been attempting to dominate the world’s religions for thousands of years. The religion does not work towards a better world, but against it, by supporting discrimination and sexism. It has been the basis of wars and violence. Therefore, Christianity is an evil religion.

The leaders of the Christian church didn’t want Christianity to be just a religion. They wanted it to be the only religion (Drew, 7). The early Christian church tried to accomplish this by making other religions seem evil, and scaring people away from them (Drew, 8). Originally, the word “pagan” meant “country-dweller”, equivalent to the words “hick” and “redneck” that are used today (Drew 7). Since most of these country people practiced old, earth-based religions such as witchcraft and druidism, the Christian church applied the word “pagan” to any non-believer (Drew 7).
