The Focus of this paper is to determine the steps for creating a nature trail. What steps need to be taken for the construction of such a trail to begin? What guidelines must be followed during the construction of such a trail? What things should be documented to promote the trail? To help answer these questions I will be focusing on a particular trail that I have a personal interest in completing. The proposed trail would run from where Tyler Foot Xing meets Cruzon Grade, to Old Mill Road along the Grizzly Creek Water Shed.
The first step in planning a Nature trail is finding out what guidelines must be followed to get it approved for construction and in the actual construction. At the main sight for NEPA I found these basic steps. Select Planning Team, Identify Purpose and Need, Gather Information, Analyze and Evaluate Management Situation, Publish a Notice of Intent, Develop and Analyze Alternatives, Prepare and Publish a Final Plan an EIS and a Record of Decision.
The Notice of Intent (Mentioned Earlier) is a legal document that you use to show the county and government that you what you intend to do (In this case build a nature trail).
