Brendan Pallentine "MotoX"

Motocross racing was his life. He lived and breathed the sport. The rush of adrenaline at the starting gates, your blood pumping rapidly around corners and the loss of breath over jumps. This was why Brendan took the sport to his maximum potential.

Brendan rode his first motor bike at age three, when his parents bought him a pee-wee 50 for his birthday. Brendan’s parents felt he was a natural as soon as he hopped on the bike. Brendan had been raised by wealthy parents, they bought him what ever he wanted, and the only downside to his upbringing was that they did not ever spend time with him. He was raised well though; he attended ‘Hail’ for nine years, was always supplied with the best of things and never had to ask for anything. Brendan felt that as a child, that because of this he did not appreciate most things, and the whole feeling of value was taken away from him. Brendan started racing motocross when he was eight. He was always at the top of his group, winning several events. In some races he was so far in front he was able to pull trick

Brendan first entered a freestyle show when he was seventeen; he excelled in this area of motocross as much as racing and stared attracting sponsors and other riders towards the sport. He won many event including the pro series in New Zealand and the Crusty Demon’s of Dirt Tour that took him all around the USA.

Brendan then in 1998 qualified for the state titles for the first time in three years, Having such a positive attitude towards the sport and himself he ended up finishing all five rounds in 1st place giving him the opportunity to qualify for the Nationals. He earned back all of his sponsorships and began to raise money to race in Asia. In 1999 during a training circuit Brendan crashed into a fence sending him flying into a team member, shattering his left knee and breaking his shoulder. He had to also go under surgery to have his spleen removed and have his knee re-constructed with titanium rods. The injury that Brendan suffered was worse than he thought, he was unable to race for one year, by then it was too hard for him to keep up to his maximum fitness level and therefore quit the sport all together.

Brendan was completely destroyed mentally, and could not get over the fact that all of his training was just going to go like that. There was nothing for him to do, he then got a job at age seventeen, where he worked as a motor bike mechanic at the Honda Shop in Perth. He then slowly got fitter and back into racing, the determination was there, but his body was not willing to follow. Bre
