Our intelligence has grown since the cave man ages. With this growing intelligence we have began to develop new ideas and method that are becoming more effective. Writers have an enormous impact on society, the power of word is able to sway to a new idea or may very well change our way of living. When these new methods get in the wrong hands it can began to involve the well being of every human on this planet. Humans are unable to predict the future in the world we live in. In life things seem to "just happen," in literature all actions, interactions, speeches and observations are deliberate. Writers convey their ideas through the characters and method of characterization in the book. Writers create cultural, governmental and social situations to make important statements on the nature of humanity, social, and cultural conditions. . .
Yes, writers use characters to develop their ideas. Although some stories do not contain any ideas that are evolved through a character, most do. Books written for enjoyment sometimes contain author's ideas; it is all in the intent. If an author wishes to write a strictly fact based work, he would not include his ideas because he wants to remain impartial and unbiased. It is evident however, that most author's do include on a varying degree some information of opinions they wish to express through their characters. Sometimes when there is much controversy on a topic, flat out saying something isnt the best approach. If the author has a conflicting view, the reader will become quickly disinterested in the ideas if they are brought up in bold. Everyone forms opinions and others have stronger opinions than others. Changes take time; civil rights took almost a century for things to turn around in America. The battles continue and if your ideas contrast too much, there is no reason yet subconscious decision, action without rationalization. By using characters, authors are able to convey their ideas to stress a point.
