Hamlet Eulogy

Dearest friends, family and the people of Denmark. We gather here today to mourn the loss of the noble prince, loyal son and true friend, Prince Hamlet. But we are not here only to mourn, but to reminisce the times we have spent with him, both the good and the bad and to remember him as the person he was. Prince Hamlet did not live a very fortunate life, his final weeks were filled with a tragedy none of us should have to bear, but still, he embraced life in all it's diversity and I am sure that he has, in some way touched the lives of all of us here today.
Hamlet passed away young, a mere 30 years of age, and I sincerely regret that I will never be able to see such a fine young man take command of the throne and restore nobility to the state of Denmark. He was the son of the great King Hamlet, one of the most paramount kings this country has ever on looked, and Queen Gertrude, our countries finest lady has now also sadly passed away. I am sure that all of you here today looked up to Hamlet as a influential, elite young prince, but I knew him to a deeper and more profound extent than that . To me, he was the best friend a man could have, loyal, witty, and extremely trustworthy. I evoke on the days formerly when we studied together in Wittenberg, we spent a great deal of time together and he was incessantly there to support and assist me. He was always cheerful but tranquil and quiet, a quick wit was a distinguished feature of his, which has never ceased to fascinate me. Hamlet delighted in "flashes of merriment that were wont to set the table in a roar." His ability to read my mind perpetually astounded me, although I could never see his thoughts. He was a lover of drama, both the classics and more modern pieces and was always ready and willing to recite a line to entertain a crowd. It is these remarkable and unique attributes that I will miss most of you and I have no doubt that all that are grieving here with me today, will furthermore miss these qualities made radiant in your presence.
