Wars have been raging on from the beginning of recorded history. Humans have been at war with each other for many reasons, but all these reasons come in to three basic categories, which are greed and power, religion and culture, and political reasons.

It is humanities nature to desire power and wealth. Countries go to war because its citizens crave for more wealth or for more power. It is plain as the nose on your face; humanity strives for success and prosperity. Every one strives for more status, it doesn’t not matter who they are, or what they do. This basic greed causes wars between countries, since countries are greedy and want to have more than what they posses. Wars are often promoted from considerations of interest, as well as from passion. The love of gain adds its influence to our other motives to support them; and without other motives, we know that this love is sufficient to give great obliquity to the moral judgment, and to tempt us to many crimes. During a war of ten years there will always be many whose income depends on its continuance. The post war effect is much worse, families would not have all the men due to the fact that they were killed fighting the war. Buildin

gs and shelters would have to be rebuilt. The war torn regions would be destroyed of their riches and beauty for hundreds and in some cases thousands of years.

The most modern type of war is a politically motivated war. This type of war is caused by corrupt governments or by cooperate business wanting to make profits. For instance the United States currently is planning to invade Iraq for the second time. If this war does occur it would kill thousands of innocent Iraqi people. The United States claims that Iraq is producing weapons of mass destruction, but it is so ironic since the United States posse’s weapons of mass destructions of its own. It seems to state that the president of the U.S has other political reasons since the economy is not doing so well. Iraq is rich in crewed oil, and there is a possibility that the United States wants to invade Iraq to improve its economy, since the economy of a country improves during a period of war. The effects of an invasion of Iraq could also cause environmental disasters. During the Gulf War oil wells were set on fire by the Iraqi army. A war in Iraq could also create more tension between the Israelis and Palestine’s; the Middle East could grow more anti-American. The government of the United States is corrupted; the president is using the September 11th attack as an excuse for him to seize power of the country. This president is intending to wage a war on a country that is already suffering. He is willing to put the lives of thousands of American service men on the line for a politically motivat
