The US and media role in 9/11

I don¡¦t consider my view on terrorism to be unique. In fact, I believe my realistic, yet cynical sentiment to be shared with thousands of people in North America and millions overseas. I will share my basic feelings on the USA¡¦s reaction to 9/11 and how the media has fed our emotions.

First off, I absolutely believe the attacks on September 11th to have been a crime against humanity, and were blatant violations of humanitarian law. I do not support the taking of life in any way! However, the third world does not operate by the same type of laws or mindset as the United States of America. When it comes to humanitarian law, the United States ¡¥War on Terror¡¨ has done as much, if not more, against these international laws than the terrorists! Rather than continue in its duty to enforce them, the US has contributed to the problem! The Bush Administration has vowed to apprehend those responsible and bring them to justice in a court of law but the terrorists of today aren¡¦t as the Russians were years back. These ¡¥terrorists¡¦ live in the poorest areas of the world and often suffer from severe poverty! I have a peculiar admiration for these people for their never-ending determination. How do you expect these peop

I can sympathize with Osama bin Laden, as with Saddam Hussein, Fidel Castro, or Yasser Arafat! Why? I understand them because the United States¡¦ foreign policy is the root of the evil of terrorism. For one, The United States has played a major role in the militarization of the Arab region in the first place. For instance, why do Palestinians hate the U.S.? They hate the States because every tank, bomb and gun fired against them bears the name of the USA. It¡¦s a fact that since the Gulf war in the early 1990s, over $60,000,000,000 dollars worth of arms and ammunition have been sent by the United States to the Middle-East and central Asia. The USA has maintained their military presence in Asia and the East for decades as if it was their own land to do what they want with. With its occupations come enormous resentment at the U.S.¡¦s diplomatic, financial and military support for Israel and other allies.
