Peace not greed

As we spoke in class and brainstormed many ideas the subject that we came up with the most pros and cons for was whether or not marijuana should be legalized.

Marijuana is said to be harmful because the youth of American and other countries see it as the gateway drug. This label has broadcasted marijuana as being the first drug a teen would try before moving on to bigger drugs which is untrue in most cases and also marijuana is thought to be an addictive drug which it is not, but some believe it to be.

Everyday people who deal marijuana to either kids, teens or adults, don't know what it may be laced with or what chemicals it may be sprayed with. This is the most hazardous part of the drug and the main reason I believe it should be legalized. If our government legalized marijuana, we would be able to know what exactly goes into the product and make sure it wasn’t laced with some other type of drug.

In order for marijuana to be legal there must be some regulations. For one thing, people would not be able to smoke it in a public


And what might be my most abstract idea that could come from this is marijuana usage might actually even decrease if the product was legal. Human tendency shows us that people are urged to doing something more if they are told it is wrong. Quite possibly if marijuana is legalized, telling some people that doing this drug is “O.K” they might be less turned onto it then if all you heard was that doing it was wrong. Overall I think if marijuana was legalized it would, decrease drug related deaths and crimes, and make a substantial increase in to our economy.

The only way the marijuana being legal would work is if it is ensured to be used appropriately. A possible way to make this possible would to make sure the person purchasing the product was at least twenty-one years of age. Unlike cigarettes, any children or teens caught smoking the drug would face the consequences as if the drug were still illegal. It is impossible to stop the use of marijuana, however; if it is only manufactured to people who are mature enough to understand laws and abide by t
