thomas edison's story

Great Minds Comes Great Possibilities

My name is Thomas Edison and I was born on February 11, 1847, Ohio, the seventh and last child of Samuel and Nancy Edison, my parents. When I was seven my family moved to Port Huron, Michigan and I lived there until I struck out on my own at the age of sixteen. I had very little formal education as a child attending school only for a few months. My mother taught me reading, writing, and arithmetic, but I was always very curious about life and taught myself much by reading on my own. My belief in self-improvement remained throughout my whole life. My life’s dream is to be a great inventor and be part of history. All my success came to me one night somewhere late September 1870. It was such a perfect day. Sun shining, birds whistling, kids playing, and the air smelled so fresh and so clean. It all started at my friend’s house, Johnny Lamington, who I have known all my life. He said, “how come we can never make good money?” So we were thinking for a while until he had said, “Finally, I should of thought about this a long time ago, why don’t we make a business that can deliver your mail less than 24 hours?” That’s absolutely the very first time I th

of communicating. Later that day, I went out to catch a little fresh air when I noticed a beautiful young lady with long black hair, sparkling blue eyes, and her beauty tingled as she walked by me and accidentally drop her diary of some sort. With my skills in communicating with gorgeous ladies, I Thomas the handsome and brilliant whose soon to be a great inventor gone and talked to her. I of course started my conversation with the famous line “Why would a gorgeous young lady need to carry something so heavy like this diary?” She said, “Its not a diary, its my documents and thank you for picking it up for me”, so I replied “how about tonight, maybe we can get together and have a little friendly drink together”, so then she gave me her address and we walked away. While I was just finishing my little walk, at the nice park where all the little kids played at, I noticed that I had forgotten to ask for her name so then I looked at her address and luckily, she had wrote it down and her name was Lucy Herington. After my day outside at the park, I went to visit my local library for research on mechanics. As I was reading, my chair accidentally tips over and I hit my head on a nearby shelf and I was knocked out just for a few minutes. As soon as I had gotten up, I had dreamt about a solution to inventing my communicating machine. So I had written each and every thought I had and I put it in my pocket. When I was done, I put my books back on the shelf and left the library. I had rushed to Johnny’s house and told him my ideas and he replied, “that’s amazing, did you just come up with this in a dream?” When I saw his eyes in amazement, it had brought my hopes of being a great inventor back. Before I left, I had told him put these solutions in are secret compartment which was in his room under a
