John F. Kennedy was the 35th President of the United States in 1961-1963. President Kennedy worked long hours making sure that he made the right decisions for his country. One of the first things Kennedy did was to create the Peace Corps, which still exist today. Lots of respect from many people is given Peace Corps volunteers.

President Kennedy had to deal with many serious problems in the US; the most serious one of all had to do with racial discrimination.

On November 21, 1963, President Kennedy flew to Texas to give a few political speeches. As his convertible drove through the cheering crowds in Dallas the next day, shots were fired. Two days later as Oswald was being transferred from one jail to another, Jack Ruby, a nightclub owner in Dallas shot Oswald in front of millions. Oswald later died in the same hospital the President was taken to.

There are many theories that help prove who shot the President, but none have really explained who actually shot John F. Kennedy.

Later that day, Lee Harvey Oswald, who was employed at a warehouse near the assassination, was arrested in a Dallas movie theater and charged with murder.
