Joshua, The Homecoming is about Jesus coming back down to earth just before the millennium strikes. He has come down to help people to prepare and give them advice. He explains to everyone that god is love, and does not want to punish people if they make mistakes. Joshua visits many places to help those he knows need help. He visits everything from cults to communes to little villages in peaceful mountainous areas. The most interesting thing people think about him is that he can get to places not by telling direction but simply by knowing. This is because he is Jesus. Once when he went to a small commune where the people there were very spiritual. Joshua explains to them what life was all about. He told them "God created this universe and put his children in the middle of it to solve riddles and enjoy wonders..." He simply wishes that everyone would have more trust in God and that is his main reason on coming down to earth. Later in the book Joshua finally realizes that he needs to travel farther outside of Auburn to help people throughout the rest of the world. He travels must further west to New Orleans, Texas and many others.
