"The case of a person who suffered with Anorexia Nervosa".
The topic I chose for this research paper is Anorexia nervosa .Millions of people is dying because of this disease. I remember when I was younger I wished I was anorexic, so I could be skinny with nice body. Of course I have changed my mind after I read many cases and especially Emily's story which was really dramatic.
The word Anorexia literally means "without appetite". First people with Anorexia Nervosa refuse or are unable to maintain normal weight. Second, people with Anorexia Nervosa have an intense fear of gaining weight or becoming fat, even though they may be grossly underweight. Third, they have a distorted perception of the weight or shape of their body, possibly denying the seriousness of abnormally low body weight. Fourth, females with Anorexia Nervosa experience amenorrhea, the absence of at least three consecutive menstrual cycles.
In Emily's case things were very dramatic especially when the anorexic stage was continuing. Emily put her self on a diet when her grandmother died from hard attack, she was overweight. She did not want to be like her grandmother so she put her self on diet. She was loosing weight until she became anorexic. As she described she was denying to everybody that she was ok, even though she knew that something wrong was happening to her. .
After she understood that she put her life in danger, she admitted it to her parents that she was anorexic. She got the right treatment and today she is alive and "healthier". She still doesn't know if she would be able to have children in the future.
I was really amazing by her description of how difficult it was for her, when she was in the last stage, to eat food. .
             Brief Biographical Information:.
Emily was 16 years old when she had the first symptoms of Anorexia Nervosa. Emily was single high school student when she diagnosed by Anorexia Nervosa. She decided to put her self on a diet after her grandmother died from overweight.
