In the poem “the Emperor of Ice-Cream “By Wallace Stevens he talk about a person has control of their life. As you read this poem it setting is in a house where an old woman had just died and people in the neighborhood had come over to put the house in order. As you read the first line I the first stanza “Call the roller of the big cigars” I believed it met calling the funeral home to come and get the women body or many could be think that a person they no one likes is no longer around and can sat their truth feelings. Then as it goes on they talk about a person who helps is strong and tell the people what to do. As they look around the areas of the houses some of the stuff looks old and worn down. As the body of the old women is dressed in her dress she
always were as women her age do and how the people around her image her when she when she was alive. Then as other people are putting stuff in order in the house some of the boys are in her yard getting flowers to put on the tables and after the service of her funeral. Then in the last lines of the first Stanza said” Let be be finale of seem” as the people see the women for the last time where she is still while they think about when she when she was alive ad thought about how she saw them in her mind. Then very last line” the only emperor is the emperor of ice-cream” to me it met only a person has control of what decisions they make in their own life. In the second stanza” take from the dresser of the deal” taking a thing that belong to that person who has passed away , but is lacking a sense
