Many people are opposed to the idea of heroin trials and injecting rooms as heroin is an illegal drug. Some people may view the projects as endorsing illegal drugs and encouraging others to do heroin. They fear that this will increase the number of addicts instead of reducing them. Although heroin is an illegal drug, the government still needs to take some action to turn around the drug users. Just because the drug is illegal doesn’t mean the government ignores the people who are caught up in the drug heroin. Even though these projects may be in operation, the police would not take a slacker approach towards the illegal users. The government would simply be introducing a method to help these people get back their lives while still prosecuting the offenders.
