Here's Johnny
During the 2003 summer quarter, Group 2 of Marshall Hattori’s English 1A has developed a humorous and witty film called “Here’s Johnny.” Director Won Jong Lee opens the film with an establishing shot of the San Francisco Airport and abruptly jumps to the Korean Airplane just before introducing the main character Johnny, which is also played by Lee. Ka Yee Lee wrote the superb script of a Korean immigrant arriving in America. Victor Leung, with his ambitious attitude as the producer, took the initiative to complement the script with the proper filming location. With the film lodged into the small DV tape, Editor Stephen Taylor modified the raw excerpts into a flowing whole. This short film has accomplished the basic cinematic techniques; however they overlooked many important criteria for a great film. The film began with an opening shot of the San Francisco Airport and a shot of the Korean Airplane. Johnny speaks very little English and has difficulty communicating with the Americans. Also, the cinematographer changed the position of the camera, which made it look like the host suddenly lowered all of the sudden. Besides the sound of this film, the acting was superb while bringing the characters to life. Johnny was hilarious and enthusiastic while acting as a lost and confused immigrant. Johnny was terrific while maintaining the same tone of this character throughout the whole film. Johnny’s overall performance was energetic, optimistic, and consistent. s others. The film later closes with Johnny adapting to American culture and raps to a popular American contemporary society rap artist Eminem. Despite the fact that this is one of the first films a student has ever made, it was still understandable by the audience. They included the eleme
