Genocide for Profit:

Historically, the United States has fought to stop genocide and oppression all over the world, including the war to end slavery in the South. Yet even today, the U. S. continues to create laws that further wreak havoc on the native people of this country. The government’s control of Indian affairs is as lethal now as it has been historically for Native Americans. (Gonzalez 76) Relocating Indians from their homelands to government-designated “new lands” still occurs. There is little difference between this and Hitler’s “transportation” of Jews to overcrowded ghettos in the 1930’s and 40’s. Most are familiar with the term “final solution” as the euphemism used by the Nazis regarding the mass murder of the Jews. However, people are not generally aware that it is also applicable to entire Indian Societies for whom the “final solution” also worked. (“Hiding Genocide: The National Museum of the American Indian”) The knowledge of how relocation decimated the Jewish population has not deterred the U. S. government from continuing to relocate its native people some forty years later.
