God selected men, most who were prophets, to write the Bible for Him (1 Samuel 10:25). A prophet is defined as a “inspired teacher or revealer of the Divine Will; one who foretells future events (Webster’s New Dictionary).” God specifically told Jeremiah and several other authors to, “Write in a book all the words I have spoken to you (Jeremiah 30:2).” God rose up prophets in which he will put His words in their mouths (Deuteronomy 18:18-20, 1Kings 14:18, 16:2, 2Kings 9:36, 14:25, Jeremiah 37:2, Zechariah 7:7,12). These prophets are human agents who write down what God is saying to them.
