belief statement

I believe the Bible is the word of God because:

God selected men, most who were prophets, to write the Bible for Him (1 Samuel 10:25). A prophet is defined as a “inspired teacher or revealer of the Divine Will; one who foretells future events (Webster’s New Dictionary).” God specifically told Jeremiah and several other authors to, “Write in a book all the words I have spoken to you (Jeremiah 30:2).” God rose up prophets in which he will put His words in their mouths (Deuteronomy 18:18-20, 1Kings 14:18, 16:2, 2Kings 9:36, 14:25, Jeremiah 37:2, Zechariah 7:7,12). All words from God are true and genuine (Psalms 119:160, John 17:17, Proverbs 30:5). They are flawless, “like silver refined in the furnace (Psalms 12:6 and Proverbs 30:5).” Every word out of God’s mouth is pure, taintless and infallible. Isaiah tells us we should tremble at His voice and his words (Isaiah 6:4, 66:2). Tremble is to “quiver or shake (Webster’s New Dictionary).” God is so omnipotent to make people quiver at the power of His holy word. It just affirms that there’s authority to what God says.

After Jesus was arrested He told the men that “the scriptures must be fulfilled (Mark 14:49).” Referring to Zechariah 13:7, in which he recited a verse from. The words written in Jeremiah 31:15 were later fulfilled in Matthew 2:17. Luke 1:45 states that those who believe in fulfillment are blessed. The Bible proves its truthfulness with the fulfillment of prophecy both in the New and Old Testament. These prophets predicted events hundreds of years b
