Salic Law

Frieda’s family will never be able to replace Frank. He was not only a leader, but also a husband, father, provider, and friend. Frank did nothing to instigate hostilities between his family and Fulk, Frank was merely protecting his daughter and his family name. Although Frank violated Title 30 Numbers 4 and 7: which state, “If any person called another a “fox,” he will be sentenced to 3 solidi” and “If any man has called another a “spy” or “perjurer” and has not been able to prove it, he will be sentenced to 600 denars, which make 15 solidi,” by publicly calling Fulk a fox, spy and perjurer. Fulk later proved all these accusations true of himself, by wooing Frieda away from her home and family, calling her a harlot and destroying property that belonged to her family. Frank was a noble, law-abiding Roman citizen who wanted the best for his family, and especially his daughter. He tried to protect and keep his beloved

In order to restore peace between these two families, Fulk must be willing to pay for all the damages suffered by Frank’s family on his behalf. Fulk broke at least seven Salic Laws and the total cost of all the injuries, property damage, and reparations is 22300 denars or 558 solidi. Fulk’s fines begin when he first breaks into Frank’s house which is a breach of Title 11 Number 5 that states, “If he has broken, or tampered with, the lock, and thus has entered the house and stolen anything from it, he will be sentenced besides the objects worth and the fines for delay, to 1800 denars, which make 45 solidi.” Next he kills the hunting dog in violation of Title 33 Number 2 with a fine of 1800 denars/45 solidi. Setting off the accidental fire which injured some of Frank’s family breaks Title 15 Number 1 that deals with arson and Fulk would be required to pay 2500 denars/63 solidi. Fulk also violated Title 3 Number 4 that deals with the theft of cattle
