One of the saddest things to watch in our society is the breakdown in the parent-child relationship. Children are being taught by the media and their peers that their parents don't understand them and don't know what is best for their life. The parent-child relationship, which sets the foundation for all other human relationships, is in a mess in our country. How a child responds to the authority of his/her parent will determine how they will respond to authority the rest of their life. That is why it is so vitally important that parents take time to teach their children how to honour and respect them. The school system will not teach them that important principle. Society will not teach them. In many cases, even the church is not teaching them. So, the parents must take it upon themselves to instruct their children in how to respect their parents. By the age of two, each child should acknowledge parental authority in the home. I am convinced that many teenagers today disregard their parents primarily because their parents never established parental authority. They never used Biblical discipline in the home, and they are reaping the results for that now. Even children who had a good start with Godly parents are now straying. There
