From childhood, we learn that we must respect the other and treat him like our fellow man, a similar person. Nevertheless, we are in the obligation to ascertain that sometimes, inequalities and differences remain. It is then natural to ask ourselves: how can I consider the other like a similar person if he is different from me.To say that the other is similar to me, doesn't it require that he resembles to me, or does it involve other parameters? First, it would seem useful to ask ourselves what do the words "similar" and "ressemble" mean. Well their roots are identical, they both come from the Latin "similare" or "similis" that means: "to present such appearance, to seem/to look like...". This definition shows us that similar and resemble are tightly linked. How does the fact of considering the other like a similar person requires that he resembles to me? When a child is born, he is virgin of all culture, or of all influence of the exterior world. Little by little, he will build an identity peculiar to himself, and this in order to become integrated and to evolve in a social group that we'll call society.
