Of the many ideas of how the Solar System was created, the most commonly accepted is the Nebular premise. This hypothesis states that the Solar System was at one point a gaseous cloud that would develop solid particles over time. These particles would eventually progress into planets (with the exception of Pluto) and more related to our discussion, form what is now known as Earth. As the numerous collisions made impact, the gravitational pull brought objects to the surface. These objects were of three distinct sorts: metal-rich fragments which were iron meteorites, rocky fragments which were stony meteorites and lastly icy fragments which were comets. The numerous collisions that created Earth as well as many other planets is critical impart to understanding the internal energy of the Earth.
