Obviously, from the causes of drinking the effects are not standing out clear enough. The law is not effective. Why keep a law that cannot be enforced? If the repercussions from the problem of breaking the law are few and light to most people, why enforce the law at all? The fact that I would like to be involved in counseling young children through their problems of abusing alcohol and drugs still makes me consider the legal drinking age in the United States. For now I say the age must be lowered or better enforced. If young people in other countries can handle the responsibility of drinking, it should be the same for our country and we might have a improved effect of the drinking problem happening in United States.

Besides, if someone under the age of twenty-one cannot buy alcohol themselves because they are refused by a merchant, they are able with no trouble to find a willing adult and simply give them the money to purchase whatever kind of alcohol they desire. I know of numerous parents who influence their children of drinking alcohol and buy it for them. Every now and then a parent and a child will party up and drink together, this is not teaching children moderation. If the age of consuming alcohol were brought down to age nineteen, this situation would make vast more sense to me. Consuming alcohol happens mostly around college campuses. I was told it seems to be an acceptation for the seniors, who generally already have been magically transformed into a responsible twenty-one year old, to go and purchase the alcohol for the underage drinkers in college. In this situation they are both breaking the law. Therefore, I have made a point that the twenty-one year old buying the alcohol for the juvenile is not particularly responsible. If a person did not want to go through the hassle of asking an older person, They can go to a big shot talented enough in the art of making fake identifications. Believe it or not our valley has loads of people that make fake ID’s. This dishonest task is a superior money making business among different college campuses I have visited. Spending just about a week in California last year, two adults offered me different authentic looking California and Arizona state driver’s licenses. So as some can see, it is quite easy for an underage drinker to break the law of consuming alcohol.
