“Six Young Men” by Ted Hughes is a poem, which deals with the theme of war. In this essay I will examine what the poem is about and how it conveys a sense of the horrors of war.
The poem deals with six young men heading into war. Their withdrawal from war and how they came to their death.
On way in which this is conveyed in the photograph is the adolescence of the men. In the poem it is implied that they are wearing “cocked hats” which “are now not fashionable, the shoes shine” and “one is cocky” this indicates that they are quite immature and that they are an inexperienced generation and very soon they will be going off to war. The context of the poem conveys the po
