Cold War

Cold War, a term used for the period of tense relations between the United States (Capitalism) and the Soviet Union (Communism), the once allies turns into enemies. The two superpowers faced each other as leaders of conflicting political, economic and ideological alliances; became engaged in a nuclear arms race; and fought surrogate wars with each other in various locations in the Third World, from Korean, to Cuba and to Afghanistan. The two superpowers tried to protect their spear of influence. In this essay I am going to talk about the following points: Rise of the Cold War, events, and the fall of Russia.

Many tensions started between Western Europe (republic society) and Eastern Europe (communism) many events happened during the cold war, one of the events that led up to the tension was the foreign aid policies. These policies were able to divide up Europe between the superpowers. The Berlin wall emerged as the symbol of divided Europe and the cold war. After Europe was divided, treaty organizations and alliances started forming up again. One of these alliances was the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). This was on Northern Europe’s side, And the Warsaw Pact. The Russians threatened to block off supply routs to Western Berlin. The people in the city were starving and dying from the lack of supplies.
