Criminal Justice System

The criminal justice industry, both in its public and private forms, is the fastest growing, least monitored and potentially most dangerous force in American society today. The government can conceal or tell the truth on whatever it wants society to know about leaving us in question on what to believe and what not to believe. Yes, it is understandable for the government to hide things from us but they should have done it in a more fashionable way. Meaning in the first place they should of never told us that they were hiding something from us leaving Americans nothing to question the system. But since they have these areas in the west keeping what happens inside sacred from us, makes us (Americans) question the system. What really happened to Rodney King or why were two Latino’s on January 11, 1995 shot to death for what seemed to be a job well done by the NYPD? These questions and many others make’s one question the government system that includes the criminal justice industry, which involves the FBI, DEA and CIA who probably conceal the truth on things everyday that they do not want the nation to know about.

Juan Gonzalez a reporter for the New York Daily News wrote about an incident that involved two Latinos and me

This situation makes one think that if money is the root of evil than committing crimes is ok if you have money. Mayor Giuliani, a good man, left people questioning if he was involved in this whole situation. Wouldn’t you think he was try to at least put on a “front” to show society he actually cared about enforcing the law instead of looking like a hypocrite? The government itself has its own society that no one other than the government is involved; and for Americans not to be involved in this society makes one feel that we are being lied to everyday on important issues that we should know about.

In conclusion, it is just harsh reality on how we are supposed to work with the system but the system does not work with “us.” It hides things from us supposively for the better of the nation but yet they have the power to tell us what they want us to hear. But what we actually want to hear is the truth or at least the majority of the nation would love to hear the truth. It seems as if the government hides a lot of minority issues and talks more about the “white issues.” “With minorities and immigrants now a majority in most of the nation’s big cities, it is no surprise that the rise of law-a
