The Value of Mothers in Today’s Society

Have you ever tried to go to a restaurant on Mother’s Day without making prior reservations? In today’s society, mothers play a great role and they are extremely valued by everyone. This is seen in shopping malls where there are child care facilities for mothers. Even large corporations are adjusting to the needs of mothers by providing child care programs for their employees. All of these are examples of how today’s society recognizes the value of motherhood.

Every year Mother’s Day is the same. All the restaurants are fully booked. You must make reservations a few days earlier; otherwise, you are not likely to be able to eat dinner with your mother at a restaurant of your choice. If you failed to make reservations and tried to go to a restaurant to have dinner you will probably have to wait hours for a table to become available. The reason for this crowded atmosp


When mothers go shopping it is fairly difficult to have a cranky, tired child walking with them. Ikea, Metrotown, and Richmond Centre understand this and have modified their shopping centre to accommodate every mother’s needs. They all have strollers and washrooms with a baby changing station for mothers to utilize. Ikea has even gone as far as providing a supervised play area and ballroom for mothers to drop their children off. Richmond Centre offers complimentary baby supplies, diapers and baby wipes, for mothers who have forgotten to pack their own. Metropolis at Metrotown offers diapers, bibs, and high chairs for young children to use. They also facilitate mothers by allowing the use of their microwaves for warming baby bottles.
