The institution of marriage has long been the foundation and future for many relationships. Marriage has a long history dating back to some of the earliest religions. However, marriage is becoming an archaic practice with moral law approaching extinction. Marriage is seen from the male standpoint as a practice of submission and compromise. In many relationships, marriage is no longer a dream that many young couples strive for; it has simply become the so-called “next step” in today’s common relationship. Marriage is becoming less common with the open approval of getting a divorce, the lack of interest in religion, and the media’s acceptance of immoral relationships.
