Another form of communication has almost overcome even the telephone, as the most used way to communicate, is the Internet. In recent years people have logged on to the Internet to talk to friends and family. I know that I have been using such services as AOL instant messenger, and Yahoo instant messenger. “You can engage in near real-time conversations without ever having to meet the person you're flirting with. You can tell them you're beautiful.” (BBC) These people can make new friends and talk to many people across the world at the same time. The Internet has a great advantage over the letter in that it offers letter writing as well as the near real time communication of instant messaging. When sending letters, “You have to pay for it.
